How do I restore a deleted task?

Task deletion is recoverable. It hides the task, stops its schedule, and cancels pending occurrences. Restoration itself leaves scheduling paused. Resuming the task or replacing an active task's schedule can start scheduling again.

These commands require Task CLI 0.1.2 or later. Run socra update if your installed plugin predates that release.

Under the Account and identity that owned the task, list deleted tasks:

socra task list --deleted

If has_more is true, continue with socra task list --deleted --after LAST_ID, using the final ID from the previous page. Find the task's ID and use it in place of TASK_ID:

socra task restore TASK_ID
socra task get TASK_ID

Check the restored status, instructions, and saved schedule. Restoration does not automatically reopen a task that was completed or canceled before deletion. Reopen it if you intend to use it again:

socra task reopen TASK_ID

When the task is active and its schedule is valid, resume scheduling:

socra task resume TASK_ID

A past one-time schedule must be changed to a future time first. If the task has no schedule, it can remain an unscheduled task.

Canceled occurrences are not replayed merely because the task was restored. Check any work that may already have started before creating another run, since deleting the task cannot undo an external action already in progress.

To choose a future one-time run, use an ISO timestamp with Z or a time-zone offset:

socra task update TASK_ID --at "2030-01-15T09:00:00-07:00"

Replace this example with your intended future date and offset. On an active task, this update also resumes scheduling.
