You can edit your own message in Channels for Mac or delete its content from the conversation. Deletion leaves a deleted-message record, and replies remain in their thread. Preserve anything you need before deleting.

To edit:

1. Open the conversation and find your sent message.
2. Open its actions and select **Edit message**.
3. Change the text and select **Save changes**.
4. Read the message in the conversation again and confirm the saved wording.

Only the author can edit message content. An archived conversation or an already deleted message cannot be edited. If saving fails, the editor keeps your correction and shows the error. Resolve the error, then select **Save changes** again.

To delete:

1. Open your message's actions and select **Delete message…**.
2. Read the confirmation and select **Delete message**.
3. Confirm that the content is removed. Check any replies separately; deleting their parent does not delete them.

Deleting clears the message text and its attachment references, mentions, pins, and reactions. It does not erase every related record, separately stored attachment, or copy a recipient already downloaded. This flow has no message-restore action.

The Mac actions described here appear on your own messages. Channel moderation permissions are separate; an Account role does not give you permission to edit someone else's wording.
