# How do I create an Account?

Choose **Create a new Account** during Account selection, enter an Account name, and select **Create Account**. You become the first owner. Use your existing Socra ID so your Accounts remain available under one personal identity.

1. Start sign-in from the Socra product you want to use and sign in with your ID.
2. At **Select an Account**, choose **Create a new Account**. If you have no Accounts yet, the sign-in process may open Account creation directly.
3. Enter **Account name**.
4. If needed, enter **Account email (optional)**. This address is used for private billing and Account notices.
5. Select **Create Account** and continue to the product.

The Account email is separate from your personal ID's sign-in address. You can leave the optional field empty.

We assign the Account a unique handle. An owner can later change its name, handle, or image in [Admin](https://admin.socra.com/) under **Account → General**.

Creating an Account does not accept an invitation to an existing team. If you expected to join someone else's Account, use its invitation and select that Account instead. **Back to Account selection** returns to the chooser when it is available. **Return to product** leaves Account creation without submitting it.

If the authorization request is no longer valid, select **Start over** and begin a fresh sign-in request from the product.
