# How do I change my Socra ID email address?

Change your email in Socra ID settings, then confirm the new address with a code. Your current address stays active until you confirm. The change keeps the same Socra ID.

If you use Google to sign in, first complete a Google sign-in with your existing ID before starting the email change. This establishes the link that lets Google continue to reach the same ID after the address changes. Changing the email before establishing that link can prevent the old Google address from signing in to your ID.

1. Open [Socra ID settings](https://id.socra.com/user/) and sign in.
2. Under **Personal information**, select your email address.
3. Enter **New email address** and select **Send code**.
4. Enter the six-digit code sent to the new address. You can paste the complete code.
5. Confirm that settings shows the new address and **Your email address has been changed.**

The code expires after 10 minutes. **Resend code** becomes available after its countdown. A new code replaces the earlier code. If you cannot resend again, use **Cancel change** and start a new request when the displayed wait period allows it.

Choose **Later** to close the dialog while keeping the pending change. Reopen settings and choose **Continue** to finish it. **Cancel change** cancels the request and keeps your current email.

Existing signed-in sessions stay valid. Sign-in and password-reset attempts that were already using the old address must be restarted after the change. Use your new address for a fresh email sign-in.
