# Why did my scheduled task not run?

A schedule makes a task due; it does not guarantee immediate execution. Check the task's owner, status, schedule, and occurrence history first. Agent-owned work also depends on the Agent being available and having the required permissions.

Under the identity that created the task, replace `TASK_ID` with its ID:

```sh
socra task get TASK_ID
socra task occurrence list TASK_ID
```

Occurrences are listed oldest first. If `has_more` is true, continue with `socra task occurrence list TASK_ID --after LAST_ID` until you reach the run in question. Use the final occurrence ID from each page as `LAST_ID`.

Confirm that the task is pending or in progress, has a schedule, and is not paused. Completed, canceled, deleted, and paused tasks do not keep producing scheduled work. Restoring or reopening a task does not automatically resume its schedule.

If the task cannot be found, check the Account and identity. An administrator's role does not make another identity's private tasks visible. A task created as a human also does not become Agent-owned merely because its instructions mention an Agent.

If an occurrence exists, inspect its status. Pending means the run has not been marked complete. Delivery of the due event alone does not prove execution. Changes to a schedule or cancellation of the task can cancel outstanding occurrences.

After an interruption, missed recurring intervals are combined into one occurrence instead of creating a separate run for every missed time. Do not recreate the task solely because it ran late; that can leave two schedules for the same work.
